I've been working in building automation since 2012 - starting in the field, commissioning systems, chasing faults, and learning why things fail in practice rather than on paper. Over time that ground-level experience converged with serious software development: custom Niagara module development, enterprise integration architecture, and the OT/IT boundary that most organizations struggle to cross cleanly.
Conscious Controls exists because most companies optimize for the install, not the outcome. End users inherit systems that were never designed with them in mind - hard to operate, harder to extend, and almost impossible to integrate with the rest of the building stack. That's the gap I'm here to close.
The work spans large-scale healthcare deployments, custom Niagara modules signed and shipped to production, SAML SSO integrations with enterprise IT, and BACnet COV tuning across distributed JACE networks. I'm based in Grand Rapids, MI and work with clients remotely and on-site.
Outside of work, I roast my own coffee on a Mill City 500g - the same obsessive attention to process variables, just with better results at 6am.
